CityKids is available throughout the entire service.
We want kids to experience church as a place where they are known, cared for, and excited to come back.
Every Sunday includes a mix of games, creative activities, worship, Bible teaching, snacks, and time to play with friends. Our teachers make biblical truth understandable and meaningful for kids, helping them discover who God is, how much He loves them, and what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life.
Look for the CityKids check-in area near the children’s entrance. No preregistration is required. Starting at 9:30 AM, our team will help you complete a quick digital registration.
Your child will receive a name tag, and you will receive a matching security tag. A CityKids team member will help you find the right space and get your child settled.
CityKids runs throughout the entire service. If your child needs you for any reason, we will contact you by text or have an usher discreetly let you know.
After the service, simply return to CityKids with your matching security tag to pick up your child.
Prefer to keep your children with you? They are always welcome to attend the main worship service with your family.
We want parents to be able to enjoy the service knowing their children are in caring hands.
Every CityKids volunteer completes a background check.
Children are cared for by teams, with multiple adults present in the children’s area.
Matching security tags are used during check-in and pick-up.
CityKids volunteers receive regular training to help provide a consistent, caring environment each Sunday.
If your child becomes sick, distressed, or needs you, we will contact you right away.
CityKids meets directly next to our main worship venue in a space used throughout the week as a children’s martial arts studio.
The environment was already designed with kids in mind, with fully padded flooring, plenty of room for games and group activities, open visibility throughout the main room, and dedicated spaces for our youngest children.
Our nursery team provides attentive care for babies throughout the service, including feeding, diaper changes, play time, and space to sleep or rest when needed.
Older children enjoy group activities, worship, creative projects, games, and age-appropriate Bible teaching in spaces designed to let kids interact, learn, and have fun together.
Lorena Bejar leads CityKids at CityLightLA West Valley.
Lorena is a professional elementary educator with more than 30 years of teaching experience and has spent her life in the West Valley. She brings decades of experience helping children learn, grow, and feel cared for.
Lorena and her husband raised five sons and are now enjoying the next generation of their family as grandparents.
Her heart for CityKids is simple: create a place where children can understand biblical truth, experience the love of God, and look forward to coming back each Sunday.
